Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has called for the Welsh Government to take action to address nuisance from urban seagulls. He has tabled questions to Ministers in Cardiff Bay after receiving complaints from constituents.
Speaking this week he said:
"I have had lots of complaints over the years, particularly from Towyn, Kinmel Bay and Pensarn areas. Gulls are a nuisance and populations need to be controlled. They can be aggressive and noisy - particularly during breeding season - and they make a real mess when rubbish is left out for collection on bin days. Everyone expects some gulls by the seaside, but the current population is far too large and, if it grows any further, could begin to deter visitors. The Welsh Gov must act."
