Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has written to the Welsh Minister responsible for planning after Conwy County Council approved a controversial planning application in Old Colwyn this week.
A 76-home development at Dolwen Road in Old Colwyn was given the thumbs up by Conwy’s Planning Committee yesterday.
Residents have been against the proposals from day one and were hopeful the application would be refused.
Responding to the decision, Darren said:
“Many of my constituents are bewildered by this decision as it appeared that the application was on the brink of being refused by the planning committee immediately before legal advice was provided.
“Given that the advice is not in the public domain and that local residents and councillors continue to express concerns that the decision flies in the face of both local and national planning policy, I have now referred this to the Minister for consideration.”
